Blue Mountain’s products are shelf-stable. Our oil and liquid-based flavors have a shelf life of two years from the day of manufacture. Our dry blends have a shelf life of one year from the manufacture date.
To ensure the safety of our oil-based products, water activity is measured for each batch. With readings below 0.85 aW, the product will not support microbial growth.

Blue Mountain offers many products that are Kosher and Halal. With our Kosher and Halal products made on separate lines from our non-Kosher products, we work with our certifying agencies to ensure that all religious standards are maintained. All of our Kosher products are pareve, allowing them to be used in both meat and dairy Kosher foods.
Reaction technology is used to mimic the reactions that occur when animal cells are heated, during roasting or grilling, for example. These reactions are what cause many of the different flavors result from cooking meat. Our process allows us to concentrate these desirable flavors.
Oils and other materials are added to a reactor, which acts like a giant pressure cooker. We maintain exact temperature and pressure to “cook” our oils. The final product is heat stable, shelf stable, and resistant to microbial.

In the modern business climate, getting raw materials fast can be critical. Blue Mountain is often able to ship the next day, and sometimes the day of the order for stock products.
Because of the varied applications in which Blue Mountain products are utilized, use levels can vary widely. Common use levels are between 0.10% to 0.25%.
Blue Mountain takes pride in its competitive pricing, generally 25% to 50% less than similar products on the market.
Liquid and paste products are usually packed in 3-1/2-, 5-, or 6-gallon DOT approved polyethylene pails. Pastes and liquid products are generally packed 35 to 60 pounds. Packaging in kilo quantities is available.
5 gallon shipping totes, 55-gallon drums, or 275-gallon totes are also available.
Dry products are packed 40 lbs in plastic bags inside double-walled cardboard boxes.
Our flavors are generally sent 24 pails or 36 boxes on a pallet.
